I would like to share with you the real story behind my passion for Health coaching and how I started “The Healthy Way”
I had always been passionate about health, nutrition, fitness and exercise and always did whatever it took to be in the best possible fitness level and shape at different stages of my life.
After having two kids, I was not exactly in bad shape. But still, those annoying stubborn kilos never went away no matter what I did, or how hard I tried. To me, that was extremely disappointing, (especially since I wad doing all the “right/healthy” things).
“It’s age…”, I thought to myself, so it must be normal and there was nothing more I could do about it.
During this time, I had just passed my mid thirties, approaching 40 (a very scary number then!). It all seemed rather annoying and, without a doubt, very disappointing.
“It must be my metabolism getting slower and slower as I grew older, so it’s just expected, right?”
I thought to myself.” There’s nothing that I can possibly do about it. I just can’t stop the process”, or so it seemed. It was so very dispiriting to the point that I almost lost any hope of getting my metabolism back to normal or getting back the body balance I wanted.
Meanwhile, I was still regularly exercising to stay fit, and I took a fitness- assessment at my regular gym.
This assessment measured several fitness indicators, including my “metabolic age”. (Metabolic age is a reflection of physical health in the form of a calculation based on the base metabolic rate (BMR)). If someone’s metabolic age is lower than his or her actual age, it suggests that the body is in good health, while one that is higher than the actual age indicates that someone may be experiencing health problems
or risks. To my shock then, my metabolic age/rate was of someone who is “52” years old, which obviously meant that my body was functioning at the same level as that of a 52 year old! As if I needed another disappointment. I am sure you can imagine how frustrating that may have sounded to me. I still was not sure what it was exactly that I could do to get myself back in control. But I knew I had to do something.
Moreover, that was not my only concern. I was, also still feeling anxious about the idea of “aging” and how we are conditioned to believe it must imply “disease” somewhere along the line; that could be any form of disease.
Have you ever thought to yourself ” Is there any viable way to prevent disease?”
Being a perfectionist at heart, questions kept nagging at me, such as; What does life look like after 40? Do I really have to worry? Am I going to get sick? Can I stop it from happening? I deeply disliked the feeling of being so out of control and of not being sure of what exactly is the RIGHT and/or HEALTHY thing(s) to do. What is the right food? What diet should I follow? Is there a daily routine to adopt? In fact, with all the misleading diet information out there, it all seemed extremely confusing and unhelpful. I had to find answers. So, I pursued my education in nutrition, and I discovered my personal Health Blueprint. I found my path to healing my digestive system from toxicity and inflammation. I also began to comprehend that the journey to one’s wellness was not just about the food on your plate but also discovering what nourishes you in all different areas of your life. Ultimately, I developed my own formula to body balance, heath and happiness.
I finally tuned in to my real passion and purpose in life and since that moment I never looked back.
Finally, no more worrying… I regained my normal metabolism. It turns out, it is possible. Ah! And did I tell you about my new fitness assessment test?! Well, fast forward to my next fitness assessment. This time my metabolism age was down to “33”. Yes, it seemed I grew younger simply by adopting the Healthy Way to living. It’s as if I had managed to literally reset my body back to normal again. As wonderful as it may sound, I actually felt I was back in CONTROL; in control of my own health and my well-being. I had more energy, naturally, and had finally achieved the balance my body and my soul have always longed for. The truth is, it simply all goes back to what and how you eat, what you drink, and the way you think. It really doesn’t have to be complicated at all. When you learn how to nourish your body, mind and soul, you actually learn to boost your immunity, slow down aging process and sometimes even reverse it.
Thank you so much Shahinaz El Tarouty for your efforts, it has been a Life-changing experience, although I wasn’t 100% committed but I have learned and changed a lot. I am now much more in control of my health.
The detox was a boost for me to stop my unhealthy eating habits and the non-stop eating too. I’m not craving sweets anymore. I have quit coffee and tea and I’m not regretting since my headache is much better now!! What makes me happier is that lots of people seeing me these days telling me you look different something has change in you which is exactly how I feel and it is true. Right after the program I noticed a clearer skin, less puffiness under the eyes. Also he skin shade was much youthful and rejuvenated. The whole experience was a real transformation!

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
